Men’s Tennis Set for Three Matches in Three Days
The Presbyterian College men’s tennis team is set for three home matches over a three-day stretch, as the Blue Hose host a Senior Day doubleheader against Georgia State and Brevard on Saturday at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., respectively.
They will play a conference match with Longwood on Monday, 3 p.m., which was originally scheduled for Friday but has been moved due to the threat of inclement weather.
PC will honor its three seniors, P.H. Broyhill, Danny Bruce and Steven Weaver, prior to Saturday’s doubleheader. The Blue Hose enter the weekend having won three straight matches and five of their last six. They sit at second place in the Big South standings with a 5-1 conference mark.
Bruce was named Big South Player of the Week earlier in the week for his standout performance last week. He went 6-0 overall with a three wins in singles and three wins in doubles, including wins over conference foes Radford and Liberty. It was the second such honor of his career, after earning one last season as well.
Brandon Mills has continued his strong play at No. 5 in singles, winning five of his last six matches and eight of his last 10. Ben Kelley has also been steady at the back of the lineup, winning of five of last six completed matches.
