Future of CHS lacrosse to be discussed at Thursday meeting

On the chopping block. Clinton High lacrosse will be dropped as a varsity sport after this season, players and parents learned Thursday during a meeting. “We’re not going without a fight,” a parent said Saturday, adding players and parents will meet Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in the CHS library with District 56 Superintendent Dr. David O’Shields to discuss the situation. Check back here for updates and look for complete coverage in the Feb. 10 issue of The Clinton Chronicle. CHS lacrosse will scrimmage today (Feb. 2), 6 pm at Wilder Stadium, and starts its spring season Feb. 23 playing at Riverside. The first home match will be March 8 against Dorman. Lacrosse is being eliminated reportedly in favor of CHS fielding a girls soccer team.  - Photo by Vic MacDonald
