PC Men’s Basketball Signs Two

Presbyterian College and head men’s basketball head coach Gregg Nibert announced the signing of guard JC Younger and forward Armel TeTe to National Letters of Intent to join the Blue Hose in the fall of 2016.  They join guard Myles McGregor, who signed with PC in the fall.

“With the signings of JC Younger and Armel TeTe, in addition to Myles McGregor, who we signed in the fall, we have addressed all of our needs in this class with three outstanding young men,” said Nibert.  "Combined with our experienced core of returning players, I am really excited about the potential of our team next year.”

JC Younger - 6-4 - 200 - G - Mandeville, La./IMG Academy (Metairie Park Country Day)

High School: Attended Metairie Park Country Day until transferring to IMG for his senior campaign ... While at Metairie his team was a two-time state champion ... As a junior he was named to the First Team All-State Louisiana, All-District MVP, a two-time Battle of the Stars MVP, was a 3-Point contest Battle of the Stars champion twice, a Sarasota Explosion Tournament MVP, and a member of the All-Diatribe Louisiana for three years ... He scored over 2,000 points in high school, and while at IMG, he averaged 16 ppg, while shooting 45% from beyond the three-point arc ... He also clubbed with Nike Team Texas ...

Personal: John Clark Younger is the son of Phillip and Crystal Younger and was born in Covington, La., Jan. 13, 1997 ... Chose PC because it was the best fit for him ... Intends to major in Psychology.

“We are really excited to be adding JC Younger out of IMG Academy, where he was coached by Vince Walden and had the opportunity to develop his game in a great atmosphere.  JC is a very skilled offensive player and his ability to shoot the ball will help our team immediately.  JC is a very hard worker both in the classroom and on the court, and will be an asset to the school and program the minute he walks on campus.”

Armel TeTe - 6-9 - 210 - F/C - Fayetteville, N.C./Northwood Temple

High School: Was a forward and center on the high school basketball team, as well as a center on the soccer team ... Earned Most Improved Player and the Hustle award for basketball and was an All-Conference Third Team member ... Team won the CCC Conference Championship and participated in the State Final Four in 2016 ... Averaged 10 ppg, 10 rpg, 4 bpg and 1 apg ... Earned the Principal's Award in 2013 and 2014, as well as the Teacher’s Award two times ... Volunteer activities include distributing food to disadvantaged citizens through the Northwood Temple Church ... Volunteered with other high school classmates to assist senior citizens in painting homes, cleaning the yards, and assisting those who could not physically help themselves ...

Personal: Ayi Armel TeTe was born to Gedeon Tete and Veronique Kpota in Porto-Novo Benin, August 16, 1997 ... He currently resides in Fayetteville, N.C. ... Chose PC because he believed PC was the way to success in his life ... Major is undecided.
