LETTER: Bumping on Woodrow Drive

The Editor,

Driving Woodrow Drive and the surrounding streets in Clinton is like driving an obstacle course these days.  Some of the bumps and pot holes are old. Some are new.  The one constant is that the number of both are growing.

A month ago, the city's fine workers repaired a water line. I'm sure the line repair went fine. The only problem is that the street has gone unrepaired for a month. Two weeks ago, a new manhole cover was installed at the intersection of Woodrow Drive and Woodrow Street that is probably 6 to 8 inches higher than the asphalt and could bust a heavy duty tire. A month ago, I observed an open work pit left uncovered on Woodrow. I'm in the heavy construction industry, so I deal with this open pit thing. Unprotected pits

are only okay if you're trying to get sued.

So, I just simply believe that we can do a little better. No disrespect intended to anyone's neighbor, brother or cousin in this observation.
