PC has top freshman golfer
Campbell’s Nadine White (Brisbane, Australia) is the Women’s Golfer of the Week, while Presbyterian College’s Ann Elizabeth Gore (Lexington, S.C.) is The Crons Brand Freshman of the Week, the Big South Conference office in Charlotte announced.
White tied for seventh at the Briar’s Creek Invitational (par 72, 6,036 yards) with a 3-under 213 (78-68-67). She tied the school record for most strokes below par with her 5-under final round 67, which also tied for the second-lowest score in school history. White bounced back from her opening round 78 with five birdies and an ace in round two.
Gore was PC’s top player with a 36-hole score of 158 at the Low Country Intercollegiate (par 72, 5,922 yards), just the second time she led the Blue Hose this season. She was the top freshman finisher among the four Big South programs in the event, and was the seventh-highest overall scorer of the 20 competitors from the conference.
The Blue Hose will next play at the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate from April 2-4 in Morganton, NC.
