Stetson coming to crack sticks

Young PC lacrosse team looks to rebound from 10-9 loss

The Presbyterian College women’s lacrosse team will host Stetson University, 3 p.m., Saturday at Old Bailey Stadium.

The Blue Hose took a heartbreaking loss to Mercer, 10-9, on Sunday in Macon, Ga. PC took 25 shots and picked up 37 ground balls in the game.

Lauren Schaaf led the Blue Hose with five goals on seven shots and gathered five ground balls, while Jess Goergen provided an assist and a goal on three shots and collected three ground balls. Schaaf powers the PC offense with 13 goals on the season, while Katy Richardson has provided three assists this year.

The Hatters knocked off Cincinnati, 9-6, on Feb. 19 at home. Six different players scored for Stetson in the game. Sam Maguire, Taylor Patrizi and Maddie Holvey each provided two goals each, while Hallie Merz recorded four assists.

Merz leads the Hatters with three goals and five assists, while Holvey added three goals on the season.

PC lax plays at home again March 14 vs Army and March 16 vs Bryant.
