Mims joins PC football staff to work with wide receivers
Mims was a three-time All-SoCon wide receiver at Furman University from 2006-10. He was named second team All-America by The Sports Network as a senior and was named team MVP for his junior and senior seasons in 2009 and 2010. He was named National Player of the Week in 2010 after hauling in 10 receptions for 202 against No. 13 South Carolina.

Adam Mims has joined the Presbyterian College football coaching staff as wide receivers coach, head coach Harold Nichols announced Thursday. Mims spent last season as an offensive analyst coach at Samford after spending time in professional football.

“Very glad to announce the addition of Adam Mims to our staff,” Nichols said. “He had a great career as a player and has had some great experiences as a coach. He will be a good teacher and mentor to our players.”

Mims helped make the Samford offense one of the best in the country last season. The Bulldogs finished the regular season third in the nation in passing offense, seventh in total offense and first in completion percentage.

“It's a pleasure to join Coach (Harold) Nichols and the Presbyterian College staff,” Mims said. “I'm not only thrilled about the opportunity to work alongside such a revered coach, but am also excited to be able to pass along the knowledge and tools I've been provided to a talented group of young men.”

Mims was responsible for a number of different tasks for the offense staff, from preparing scouting reports and practice plans to analyzing film and player performance. Additionally, he aided the Bulldogs’ recruiting efforts with student-athletes from Alabama, Georgia and Florida.

Prior to his time at Samford, Mims was involved with number of different football camps as an instructor, including the Dabo Swinney Football Camp and Butch Davis Volunteer Football Camp. He was involved with the Carolina Panthers’ Joe Webb Football, the Chris Hatcher QB School and the Bobby Lamb Football Camp in Greenville, S.C.

After Furman, Mims signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as a free agent and attended training camp, before later signing a two-year contract with the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL.

The native of Birmingham, Ala. graduated from Furman in May 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in health and exercise science.
