Three alleged armed robbers are in custody
Three people have been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged armed robbery in Clinton.
Authorities identified the suspects as Olin Christopher Rhodes II, 27, of 1445 Hwy 92, Enoree; Jonathan Eugene Merchant, 22, of 1371 Young Rd., Clinton; and Adriana Jade Brewster, 17, 416 Bradford Forest Lane, Lyman. They were arrested Tuesday night, and are accused in an the alleged armed robbery of a man and woman at a Locust Street residence. The men allegedly pointed a pistol, and stole a cellphone and a purse.
The men are charged with two counts of armed robbery, and two counts of possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Brewster is charged with armed robbery, possession of meth with intent to distribute, and possession with intent within the proximity of a playground. Brewster is accused of holding the woman at gunpoint and allegedly taking a pocketbook.
She is accused of having 2.93 grams of meth while at the Locust Street residence, which is in proximity of a playground at Peachtree and Pine streets.
Bond was denied for the suspects.
