Storm damage updates on tap
Storm damage assessments will be presented to the Laurens County Council at its meeting on Tuesday.
Council will meet at 5:30 pm in the council chambers, historic courthouse in downtown Laurens. The meeting is open to the public, and a 15-minute public comments time is set aside during the meeting. Anyone who wants to address the council about any issue must register at the podium before the meeting starts.
Reports on the Thursday and Friday storms will be presented by Joey Avery, E-911-Communications Director, and Rob Russian, Public Works director. Sandy Cruickshanks, county attorney, will report in FOIA (SC Freedom of Information Act) records training, ordinance readings and workforce agreement. County Administrator Jon Caime also will make a report to the council.
New business includes Landfill Groundwater DHEC Requirements, and first reading of an ordinance to adopt the Fire Service Budget for FY16-17. County Council members' comments and a closed-to-the-public, executive session to discuss an employment matter round out the agenda.
The Laurens County Council meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays each month.
