Boiling Springs man shows park-goers, child how to shoot up meth, is arrested

A Boiling Springs man was taken into custody after he injected meth, in full view of people enjoying a spring day at a Laurens park.

Authorities identified the suspect as Jason Russell Kuykendall, 38, of 200 River Fork Dr., Boiling Springs, near Greenville. He was arrested last Tuesday and charged with unlawful neglect of a child, aggravated breach of peace and possession of drug paraphernalia. A report said Kuykendall had a child with him when he injected methamphetamine at Laurens City Park, 317 E. Main St.

The child neglect charge alleged Kuykendall placed the child in unreasonable risk of physical and mental harm.

The report said there was a large crowd, including adults and children, in the park when the suspect injected the meth into his body.

Kuykendall was accused of having a spoon and syringe, bringing about the drug paraphernalia charge.

He was held on $40,000 bond for the child neglect charge ($50,500 bond overall).
