District 56 board to meet tonight at Clinton High School
The Laurens School District 56 board of trustees will meet tonight at Clinton High School.
After convening at 6 p.m., the board will move into executive session for 90 minutes to discuss personal considerations/matters, contractual matters and student discipline.
The next portion of the meeting --open to the public -- will begin at 7:30 in the high school auditorium.
The board will receive an AdvancED re-accreditation update, as well as a teaching and assessing for learning report from Assistant Superintendent Dr. Laura Koskela.
Clinton Elementary Principal Nancy Roland and MS Bailey Child Development Lead Teacher Caroline Hunt will present strategic planning for 2015-2016.
Two Distinguished Teachers of Reading -- Kelly Pitts at Joanna-Woodson Elementary and Ellen Templeton at Eastside Elementary -- will be recognized by the board.
The board members will themselves be recognized during the meeting. January is School Board Appreciation Month in South Carolina.
The board has also set aside 15 minutes for audience participation. Anyone wishing to speak had to register in advance.
