D56 board meeting Monday
Public comments on the $23 million School District 56 budget will be taken by the Board of Trustees from 6:30 to 7 p.m. on Monday.
The board's regular monthly meeting will be at the Clinton High School Auditorium, 18132 Hwy 72 East, Clinton. The meeting is open to the public except for closed, executive sessions set for 6-6:30 pm and 7-7:30 p.m, for discussions of personnel matters and contracts. Aside from the budget public hearing, the open session board meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. Audience participation will be 15 minutes, 3 minutes per participants, register at the meeting.
The Targeted Focus Goal is increase the percentage of students meeting standard in reading and math as measured by the SC state assessment for all students in grades 3-8. The superintendent's report will include special recognition, technology update and end of year recap. Budget and finance end of the year report for 2015-16 will be given, and the board will take action on budget adoption items - 2016-17 pay scale and general fund operating budget.
Unfinished and new business, announcements and upcoming events will conclude the meeting.
