Clinton's Avery Fox Receives Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Distinguished Service Award, Region 2
Avery Fox of Clinton, representing the South Carolina Baptist Convention, was awarded the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Distinguished Service Award for 2015.
The Distinguished Service Award recognizes individuals for specific performances during disasters and is based on the most recent year of response.
Avery, a member of First Baptist Church, Clinton, has been a Southern Baptist Disaster Relief volunteer for 10 years.
During the recent South Carolina floods he served as a unit leader and on-the-job trainer for several collegiate groups who came to help in the flood recovery efforts.
“Avery’s heart for serving Christ in crisis is exhibited by his willingness to drop everything and do anything when needed, no matter how big or small. Avery never says “no” to ministry opportunities and loves working with college students,” said a news release announcing the award.
On several occasions Fox represented the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief ministry on the governor’s “Team South Carolina” events at disaster resource centers across the state.
He also works with local and city officials when needed.
“Southern Baptist Disaster Relief would like to thank Avery for his faithful service and servant’s heart while bringing help, healing and hope to those in need,” the news release said.
