Clinton council has 9 zoning matters

Monday meeting will take up annexation, zoning referred by Planning Commission
De-annexation of property (near I-26) will take two of the nine Planning Commission referred items.

The Clinton City Council will take up 9 matters referred by the Planning Commission at its regular monthly meeting Monday, 6 p.m. in council chambers, MS Bailey Municipal Building. The meeting is open to the public.

Anyone wishing to address the council must register prior to the meeting. After opening business and minutes approval, Mayor Bob McLean will call on those who have registered to make their comments to the full council. Council will give a special recognition to Linda Sparks, and will consider 7 resolutions (Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, American Red Cross Month, Women's History Month, Registered Dietitians Day, Sunshine Week, Fair Housing Month, Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month).

De-annexation of property (near I-26) will take two of the nine Planning Commission referred items. The others are: reducing zoning of tract near Exit 54 I-26, annex and zone property at 199 Shadow Wood Dr. (two items), 2 annexations of other contiguous properties, zone property on Hwy 72 and East Corporate Center Dr., and zone property at 1428 Hwy 72 West.

Council will consider transferring 206B Shands St. to Habitat for Humanity. Council will authorize the purchase of water treatment chemicals for the next 12 months, and will authorize an agreement for design services for an industrial pad to be constructed on West Corporate Center Drive (economic development area along I-26).

City Manager Frank Stovall's report will be followed by an executive session discussion of a. Recreation Services, b. Project Opportunity. The SC Freedom of Information act allows for closed-to-the-public discussions, under some circumstances, of contracts, legal advice, personnel decisions and industrial recruitment, council cannot take a vote in closed session.

Council members, the city attorney, mayor and standing committees will make reports and recommendations. The agenda is subject to change at any time prior to 24 hours before the meeting. A final agenda will be available 24 hours before the meeting date.

Clinton City Council meetings are held each 1st Monday, 6 pm, in the PS Bailey City Council Chambers of MS Bailey Municipal Center, 211 North Broad St., Clinton.

 

Citizens who want to speak to the Clinton City Council must register in the council chambers prior to the meeting.
