Clinton City Council will swear in Cannon
TONIGHT: Clinton City Council will conduct a swearing in for the new city manager, Bill Ed Cannon, at its regular monthly meeting.
The Jan. 8 meeting (delayed because the normal meeting day, first Monday, fell on New Year's Day) will be at 6 pm in the PS Bailey City Council Chambers of the MS Bailey Municipal Center, 211 N. Broad St., Clinton. The meeting is open to the public; anyone wanting to speak to the council must register before the meeting starts.
In addition to Cannon's swearing in, council will proclaim January as Birth Defects Prevention Month and Blood Donor Month in the city, will present awards to Christmas Parade, Spirit of Christmas Decorating and Window Wonderland winners, will adopt a safety policy statement, and will consider a resolution adopting the Municipal Association of South Carolina's 2018 legislative agenda. Final action will be taken on the sale of 202 West Main St.
A water plant operations award and a budget award also will be presented to the city.
