Suspect accused of hitting a woman as children watched
Wesley is accused of hitting the victim in the face and body while children were present. A report said he has prior convictions for domestic violence.

Authorities have arrested and charged a Clinton man with criminal domestic violence, and he is being held on $100,000 bond.

Joshua Chadwell Wesley, 32, of Apt. H-2, 102 College Park Road, was arrested Saturday, a report said. His arrest came after authorities were alerted to a 911 call about a hang-up call with the sound of someone breathing. 

Responding officers found a 27-year-old woman with visible injuries who reported her boyfriend assaulted her. Wesley was seen in nearby woods and fled from officers. He was found later lying in the woods, and an officer held him at gunpoint as other officers arrives and took Wesley into custody.

He was taken to jail by officers of the Clinton Department of Public Safety on the charge of first degree domestic assault. Wesley is accused of hitting the victim in the face and body while children were present.

A report said he has prior convictions for domestic violence.
