Annexation up for final vote

Waverly Road, near CVS, will be site of Dollar Tree

On Monday, Clinton City Council is expected to give final reading to ordinances that annex two parcels on Waverly Road and designate the land for commercial zoning.

Council will hold a called meeting at 5 pm in the council chambers, second floor of the MS Bailey Municipal Building. The meeting is open to the public. The Waverly Road parcels are 104 and 114, contiguous to the city limits. The parcels will be zoned Commercial (C-3). Annexation requires a public hearing, to be conducted at this meeting. After adjournment, the City Council will convene itself as the Clinton Senior Citizen Housing Authority, and will consider legal and contractual matters related to the management of Tallwood Homes I and II, under city manager's reports and recommendations.

During its called meeting, council has the option of hearing reports from standing committees, city attorney and mayor reports, council members' reports and statements from any citizens who register in council chambers before the meeting starts. No executive session is scheduled for this called meeting.
